Outside the Metro Sundays
While posting yesterday about Villa Serena, I found so many lovely venues that are just right outside the city of Atlanta. I thought it would be fun to highlight these venues that are not in the metro area but close enough for guests to enjoy the local attractions.
If you are planning a weekend wedding, want different venue options, or just simply want to have a destination wedding without leaving the state or country, these venues are for you.
Starting this Sunday, we will showcase a different venue in an Outside the Metro feature. I've already selected a wonderful location for this Sunday so be on the lookout for it. Here's a photo tease until then.
Etsy Love
I am so in love with Etsy and the talented people who share their beautiful talent and crafts with the world. Etsy is a great place to find some fantastic and unique wedding items from jewelry, gifts, wedding dresses and everything in between. If you are looking for one of a kind wedding items with quality workmanship than etsy is definitely a great place to start.
Here are just a few of my fave sellers:

Villa Serena
Today, I stumbled upon photographer Brandelyn Lee’s blog and noticed this incredible venue called Villa Serena. I wanted to know more. I found out that Villa Serena, is a beautiful and romantic Italian Villa located on 100 lush wooded acres overlooking a shimmering lake. It is 45 minutes from downtown Atlanta.
As you can see from the photos Villa Serena is simply exquisite. Words cannot express how beautiful and serene it is.
Can’t you imagine feeling and looking like a princess gliding down these stairs?
One word: Breathtaking!
Please visit Brandelyn Lee or Daniel Stancil's blogs to see more photos of a really incredible wedding at Villa Serena.

Evening Garden Party
wearing a gorgeous Vera Wang gown nibbling on delicate canapés and sipping rose colored champagne; only to realize I’m sitting on my couch wearing my pj’s eating popcorn and drinking a raspberry ginger ale. Most especially I love films with a great party scenes. I really like films with a formal garden party. I grew up on a plantation and I remember my parents throwing some of the most gorgeous parties outdoors on the lawn, hence my love affair with all things party and gardens.
Some of my favorite films that have fabulous evening garden parties are: The Great Gasby, Sabrina (both of the 1954 and 1995 versions), and Meet Joe Black.
If I could have my dream wedding and use my favorite films as inspiration, it would have to be an evening lawn party with fabulously dressed guests, great food and drinks, a live band and fireworks. Here’s an inspiration board that I created with that vision in mind. Can’t you here the orchestra playing?
Derby Day - A Run for the Roses
When I saw that one of my favorite blogs, Snippet & Ink featured a Kentucky Derby themed wedding photographed by the super talented Christine Gallagher, I just had to share. Hope you enjoy this beautiful Kentucky Derby Wedding and the Kentucky Derby today.
